Jazz with real fire.
Jazz is where technique meets performance — sharp lines, big leaps, fast turns, and the stage presence to sell all of it. It's one of the most popular classes at DIDC and a core style for every dancer who trains here.
Dancers meet jazz early: it's built into Creative Movements at ages 3–4 and the Ballet/Jazz/Tap combo at 5–6. From age 7, Academy jazz classes train by level, and jazz routines are a staple of our year-round performances and competition entries.

Questions parents ask
Jazz FAQ.
What age can my child start jazz classes?
Jazz foundations begin at age 3 inside Creative Movements, continue in combo classes at ages 5–6, and become dedicated Academy jazz classes from age 7 on.
Is jazz good for beginners?
Yes — jazz is one of the most welcoming styles for new dancers. Classes are leveled, so your dancer trains with others at a similar stage, and our instructors build technique step by step.
Will my dancer get to perform?
Jazz dancers take the stage all year: our annual concert CREATE, and holiday shows like Jingle Bell Jam.
